Spalding Golf Club quartet do Lincolnshire proud at England Champion Club final

The Spalding Golf Club team representing Lincolnshire at the England Champion Club final in Huddersfield finished in a very creditable fourth position over the weekend.

The team of Simon Richardson, Hugo Kedzlie and Tommy Hull – playing on Saturday and Sunday – were in touch with the leaders after day one.

The wind and bobbly fast greens got the better of the players on day two on a steep and tricky course.

There was a fantastic entourage from Spalding at the event, with more than 30 spectators making the trip.

  • Some 14 teams contested the Ladies and Seniors AM-AM at Spalding Golf Club on Monday.

The format was one lady and one gent to score on each hole in a mixed fourballs – and it turned out to be a very social Stableford.

The winning pairs were Di West and Sybil Thorpe and Rick Edwards and Albert Jacobs.

Nearest the pin on the ninth hole were Paula Brown and Bernard Herbert.
