Spalding RFC all set for their President’s Weekend celebrations

This Saturday marks the start of the annual President’s Weekend celebrations at Spalding RFC – and there is plenty going on.

Saturday’s events at the Memorial Field (on St Thomas’s Road) are headlined by Town’s Midlands Three East (North) fixture with Buxton (3pm) and the Nomads’ showdown with Oakham 2nd beforehand.

But the Elephant Bar – which will be serving ales, gin and vodka all afternoon and evening – will open at noon, ensuring that the fun kicks off then.

As well as great games of rugby and free-flowing alcohol, there will also be plenty of activities for all of the family. That includes a bouncy castle, fairground game stalls, a barbecue and stalls with sweets and cakes for sale.

Once the rugby has finished, DJ Wand will kick-start the evening entertainment, followed by live performances from the very talented Meg McPartlin at 5pm and The Returns at 7pm.

Sunday then sees Spalding’s minis and juniors take centre stage.

They will have a fixture against rivals Stamford at 10am, with plenty of entertainment for all.

Once again there will be stalls, a barbecue, a bouncy castle and access to the Elephant Bar for all in attendance.
