Spalding girl Zuzanna (9) has locks lopped for charity

A girl of nine has had her long locks chopped off and donated them to be made into a wig for a child who has lost their hair to cancer treatment.

Zuzanna Miernik’s act of kindness continues what is fast becoming a trend for clients of Mishishi hair and beauty salon, in New Road, Spalding.

Zuzanna’s mum Justyna Miernik (32), of Spalding, said: “I think it’s a really good idea and it’s lovely to think something so positive has come out of Zuzanna having her hair cut.

“It would be lovely to think that now Zuzanna has done it, others may do it as well.”

Pinchbeck East Primary School pupil Zuzanna had not had a substantial hair cut since she was five, but decided to have a new look for her ninth birthday.

On the day of her haircut a friend of Justyna’s mentioned that hair could be donated for wigs and then Ben Nott (24), salon manager at Mishishi told them about the Little Princess Trust charity.

The charity turns donated hair into wigs for boys and girls who have lost their own hair to cancer treatment.

Ben mentions the charity to all clients who have a substantial cut and a few months ago his friend Noush Price (24) donated her hair after growing it especially for the charity.

Monica Glass, charity manager at The Princess Trust, expressed her gratitude to Ben, Noush and Zuzanna.

She added: “Zuzanna’s hair will be blended with other contributions and it will be made into a wig for a sick child. What a fantastic girl Zuzanna is for doing so much for others at such a young age.”
