Spalding drink driver had knife in public place

A Spalding man driving while more than three times over drink drive limit was also found to be in possession of a large kitchen knife.

Antons Marcinkevics (59), of Hannam Boulevard, pleaded guilty to drink driving along Park Road in Spalding on August 25 last year.

A breath sample recorded 122 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

He was also found guilty of possessing a bladed object in a public place without good reason at the same location and day.

Marcinkevics received a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

He was also ordered to carry out 180 hours of community service within the next 12 months and attend appointments with a responsible officer, fined £250 and ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.

The reasons given for the sentence was due to the high levels of alcohol involved, the fact an accident occurred and due to the knife being in full view on the car seat.
