Spalding death: Arrested man released under investigation

A man arrested following the discovery of a body in Spalding on Sunday morning has been released under investigation.

A 49-year-old man was found dead at a house on Neville Avenue at around 11.38am.

A police spokesman said they had arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he was released under investigation this morning (Wednesday).

Officers are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and no names had been released.

Paramedics had been called to the scene but the man was found to be unconscious and not breathing, according to East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Police officers were continuing to search the house on Monday and the name of the deceased is expected to be released later this week.
