It’s been a busy few weeks for Spalding’s air training corps as cadets have celebrated successes in two competitions and packed bags to raise funds.
First aid teams from 1406 Squadron ATC Spalding took part in the annual Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing First Aid Competition in Cambridge, with young adult and youth teams taking first place, claiming gold medals and the chance to compete in the Central and East Regional competition in September.
One of the participants, Cdt Sgt Lockie, said: “It was a great experience, the feeling when they announced we’d won both times was fantastic and very rewarding.”
Cadets also took in a Wing Athletics competition in Bedford, where they put in an excellent performance, winning third in the youth boys category, first in senior girls, second in overall boys and first overall – making them Wing champions two years running.
The squadron also took part in a very successful bag pack at Asda in Boston, where they raised £750.
