Lutton’s Ball pushes leading lady all the way

South Holland’s top female darts player Claire Ball pushed world number one Deta Headman all the way in her first-ever appearance at the Ladies British Pentathlon.

Lutton thrower Ball, a regular on the Spalding darting scene, finished as runner-up in the ladies’ final at the 39th annual ‘Pentathlon’. The Lamb and Flag ace consoled herself with the £500 prize for second place and an invitation to compete at the competition next year.

Ball has been on fine form in recent weeks, having won the Northamptonshire Open and reached the semi-final of the 2014 England Open.
