Solar substation consultation event

A community information session is being planned for a proposed transformer at Bicker Fen sub station.

National Grid is inviting people to learn more about its plans for the site on Thursday, November 7.
Staff from the company will be on hand to discuss the project and to talk to residents about how they can minimise the impact of the works.
The drop-in is from 2pm to 7pm at Bicker Village Hall on Cemetery Road, PE20 3BT.
“Our work at Bicker Fen is one of many projects across the country to connect new low-carbon energy sources and help meet the country’s rising demand for power while supporting net zero targets,” said Faizaan Patel, National Grid EPC Project Manager.
“Ahead of starting work, we encourage the Bicker community to come along to the event which will give residents the chance to find out more about our plans.”
The company expects to complete work to connect the AGR Renewables’ Bicker Fen Solar Farm by October 2025.
