Moulton Harrox 2nd made it eight wins from ten games in South Lincs and Border League Division One after seeing off Boston 2nd by 22 runs on Saturday.
Batting first at the Mayflower, Moulton were all out for 153 in 42.3 overs despite the now customary half-century from skipper Mark Ramsden.
It was nip and tuck in Boston 2nd’s reply as they fell just short on 131, with Curtis Todd (4-17) and Alex Baker (4-28) both on top form with the ball.
That earned Harrox 18 match points and they are 26 points clear at the summit.
With opener and skipper Ramsden making 55, which included nine fours, he was again the lynchpin of the innings.
Mohammad Alam (15), Harry Lovell (19) and Danny Jackson (13) were the only other players to make double figures for Moulton, with extras (22) the second top scorer.
They had enough, though with Todd and Baker doing on number on Boston’s batsmen.
Damian Lawson (49) and Jack Tetther (40 not out) threatned to chase down the target, but Harrox – who have a free weekend coming up – held firm.
- Spalding Town 2nd slipped back to the bottom of the South Lincs and Border League Division One table after a 48-run defeat at high-flying Newborough on Saturday.
After winning the toss and deciding to bowl, Neo Timothy took 4-31 to help Town limit second-placed Newborough to 177-9 in their 45 overs.
That man Timothy then top scored with 27 in reply, but Spalding came up short and were all out for 129 in the 42nd over.
Gagandeep Singh (55) was the star of Newborough’s innings, with Rohan Shah (28) also chipping in.
Tom Decamps (3-40), Macey Andrews (1-15) and Rob Seymour (1-37) were the other wicket takers.
A number of players got starts in Spalding’s run chase, with Jack Sawyer (18), Yuvraj Ranaut (17), Billy Gallagher (15) and Jack Bowser (13) also contributing to the efforts of Timothy.
Town did at least get six points for their efforts, but they are now 13 points adrift at the bottom.
Meanwhile, Spalding 3rd conceded their derby game at Long Sutton 2nd in Division Two. Leaders Sutton took 20 points as a result, with Town docked ten points.
