Shed has more irons in the fire

One of Long Sutton’s biggest success stories is continuing to grow.

The Men’s Shed, a scheme started to help alleviate male loneliness, continues to go from strength to strength.

There’s now even more for attendees to enjoy including a new iron forge installed.

And members are keen to pass on the skills they’re learning to the next generation with a bid to teach construction skills through local schools progressing.

The group’s Frank Heinrich-Jones said: “The Long Sutton Men’s Shed is now diversifying and can now offer a much wider variety and additional services and new opportunities for our members.

“We now have a new iron forge, a fully functioning metal working lathe, bird box kits for our members who need support for DIY work at the Shed, craft and hobbies and picture paining.

“We are looking to cater for all our members requirements whilst at the Shed.

“In addition, we will shortly be looking to start our New Youth Shed for school children to learn new construction skills starting with bricklaying. Further details to be announced shortly.”
