Man who admits sexual activity with a child avoids jail

A Spalding man who admitted sexual activity with a child has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Kyle Mitchell, 26, pleaded guilty to four sexual offences when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court 

They included one charge of sexual activity with a child aged under-16 which occurred between December 1 2022 and January 31 2023.

Mitchell, of Chestnut Avenue, Spalding, also admitted two counts of possessing extreme pornographic images on November 29 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to one charge of making an indecent category C image of a child on the same date.

Mitchell was sentenced by Recorder Jeremy Hardy KC after the preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Probation Service. 

Recorder Hardy sentenced Mitchell to two years imprisonment suspended for two years on the charge of sexual activity with a child.

Concurrent jail sentences of one months imprisonment and one years imprisonment were also passed on the Category C and extreme images offences.

Mitchell will also have to complete 200 hours of unpaid work in the community and 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days. 

He must also notify on the Sex Offender Register for ten years and forfeit his phone for destruction.
