Seven-up Moulton Harrox just can’t stop winning

Dominant Moulton Harrox made it six wins from as many ChromaSport Peterborough League Premier Division matches with a 7-1 win at Leverington Sports on Saturday.

Joe Townsend’s speed and agility allowed him to grab the opener, before Adam Abell lashed home a stunning 25-yard effort to double the Moulton lead.

Slack marking from a free kick allowed Sports to pull one back before the half-time break – but there was to be no comeback.

That’s because the second half was totally bossed by Dave Panton’s on-song side.

Striker Ian Bradbury banged in two, while Townsend and Abell both added their second of the afternoon. All were well-worked team goals. The scoring was complete when Martin Sandall jumped off the bench to smash home.

Harrox, who are second in the table on goal difference – albeit with a game in hand – must now wait until September 26 for their next game due to four members of their squad being called up to play for the league’s rep ‘team’.

Boss Panton said: “We were very dominant like we have been so far this season. It’s great to have players of good quality to come in when we have players either unavailable or injured.

“I’m really looking forward to a number of players returning. I’m pleased some players have made the rep team but frustrated we miss another Saturday. I worry that, if we continue to do well in all four competitions, the last couple of months will spoil all the hard work we are doing at the moment.

“The team’s attitude, commitment and work rate is fantastic at the moment.”

Harrox: Kenealy, Coddington, Hall, Cardell, Placis, Townsend, King, Allen, L Steadman, Abell, Bradbury. Subs used: Law, Sandall, Wheeler.
