Holbeach United under-15s cruised to an impressive 7-0 win at Bourne Town under-15s on Sunday, writes Tom Coley.
Holbeach started the better side and the score line showed that as, after a succession of corners, Charlie Ford found the net for his first of the season.
An onslaught of chances followed for the visitors, but they couldn’t find the net until Pat Campling popped up on the edge of the box to half-volley home his first-ever goal for the Tigers.
As the home team lost patience, Holbeach capitalized as substitute Lewis Turner fired home from six yards.
Bourne struggled to keep the ball at all in the second half – and were punished when a swift counter attack from Fenn Storey found Alex Richardson free inside the box to make it 4-0.
Another switch from boss Neal Collishaw was justified when sub Liam Sandall came on to get two in two minutes.
He fired his first in from Campling’s cross, before slotting home the second from a tight angle.
The game was rounded off by a long kick down field coming to Storey, who tucked the ball home to complete the scoring.
Bourne rarely troubled the solid Holbeach back line – but when they did get in behind, vice captain Jordan Olive swept up to clear the ball off the line.
- Spalding United Orange under-16s made it four wins on the spin with a 2-0 triumph over Hungate Rovers under-16s.
After a goalless first period, Spalding went ahead when Ollie Green capitalised on a defensive error by Hungate.
Orange continued to push forward and it was Green who scored his second to secure maximum points.
- Long Sutton Athletic under-16s beat Wittering Harriers under-16s 5-3.
After falling behind, a first-half Brad Mackman hat-trick put Sutton 3-1 up at half time.
Not done there, Mackman added a wonder goal direct from a corner kick, while Wittering also hit back with two goals. However, Jayden Nightingale’s first of the season stopped any comeback.
