Seven-up billiards foursome secure impressive wins

Four sides stormed to flawless 7-0 wins in Spalding and District Billiards League on Monday night.

Leaders Holbeach B led the way with their fourth win from as many matches, dispatching Pyramid B. Denis Hix (R70) was their star man.

Also getting in on the 7-0 act were champions Long Sutton, who dispatched Holbeach A.

Mick Cooper (O60) top scored for Sutton with a 37 break, while Hugh Pinner (O170) managed a 38 in defeat.

Crowland B were the third team to take maximum points as they cruised past Gosberton A.

As ever, Rob Childs (O210) starred with a 56 break, while Allan Sharman (R70) and Paul Holland (R70) also won.

Consti C completed the list of whitewash winners as they beat club rivals Consti B 7-0 – despite a 44 break from Mick Johnson (O170).

Elsewhere, Crowland A remain second after a solid 5-2 success at Gosberton B gave them a third win from four.

Terry Evertitt (R10) and Richard Wesley (R70) won for the high-fliers, while Shane White (O40) managed a 35 break in vain for Gosberton.

Also winners on the night were Consti A, who handed hosts Donington a 5-2 reverse. Lindsay Porter (R50) settled that clash, while Sid Shaw (O10) made a 22 break.
