Seven doesn’t prove to be lucky for Spalding RFC

Spalding RFC’s search for a first win in Midlands One East will drag on for another week after they were beaten 50-24 by Mansfield at the Memorial Field on Saturday.

That now makes it seven defeats on the spin for Town, who remain bottom of the table and the only side yet to register a victory.

They did at least double their points tally for the season with a solitary bonus point, but that will be scant consolation for Spalding – who had targeted the basement battle as the game to kick-start their campaign.

Next up for Town is a Lincolnshire derby at Market Rasen and Louth on Saturday (3pm).

We’ll have a full report and reaction from the game online at www.spaldingvoice.co.uk, a preview to this Saturday’s game and plenty more from the club in Thursday’s edition of The Spalding and South Holland Voice.
