Second win on the bounce for Holbeach United but Spalding United see game rained off

Holbeach United made it back-to-back wins in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division with a 2-0 success at Oadby Town on Saturday, while Spalding United saw their match at Leek Town postponed.

Second-half goals from Ollie Pinner and Jake Clitheroe sealed the points for Seb Hayes’ Tigers, who beat Harrowby United 9-0 the previous week.

Their 16th league win of the season consolidates seventh place in the UCL standings.

As for the Tulips, heavy rain ensured that Leek Town’s pitch failed a 9am pitch inspection.

Leaders Shaw Lane also saw their game postponed, but fellow title rivals Newcastle Town and Witton Albion both won.

Witton are now four points off the second-placed Tulips with five games in hand.

In the ChromaSport PDFL, Pinchbeck United crushed Thorney 5-0 at Knight Street thanks to goals from Ollie Maltby (2), Nick Bishop, Callum Lawe and Tom Panton.

Holbeach United Reserves were also on winning form as they saw off Deeping Rangers Reserves 4-3, while Crowland Town saw off Langtoft United 4-2 at Snowden Field.

Moulton Harrox also earned a 4-2 President Premier Shield triumph at Wisbech Town Reserves.

In Division One, leaders Moulton Harrox Reserves were 2-1 winners at Wittering Harriers to make it 19 games unbeaten.

Long Sutton also stunned rivals Sutton Bridge United 1-0 in the Spalding Inter Services Trophy.
