Search on for man who ‘accidentally’ donated ring to Holbeach charity shop

Staff at a Holbeach charity shop are desperately trying to trace a man who they think might have accidentally included a ring of great sentimental value in a bagful of donations.

The man dropped off a Wilko carrier bag of goods to the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall shop in High Street last Tuesday afternoon (Nov 29). As they sorted through the contents, staff discovered an envelope containing a ring which they believe the owner wasn’t aware was in the bag.

A sign was put in the shop window asking the donor to claim the jewellery but as yet staff have heard nothing.

Manager Sharon Harris said: “We do get a lot of people donating jewellery for which we are very grateful but the writing on the envelope and the style of the ring suggests that this has a lot of sentimental value for someone and that it was put in the bag accidentally.

“We’d love to reunite it with its owner.”

She added: “The gentleman wasn’t someone we recognised but we’re very much hoping that through spreading the word in the media he will come back.”

The man, or anybody who knows who he is, is asked to call into the shop or phone 01406 424494.
