Scout hut hits new roof target

After a long fundraising campaign, Holbeach Guide and Scout Hut Committee has hit its target for a new roof.

A spokesman said the group would like to say “a huge thank you to Kev Forman Roofing for doing such a great job, help and advice”. They would also like to thank everyone who helped with the fundraising: Coun Tracey Carter, Coun Francis Biggadike, Chosen charity shop, Holbeach Tesco, parents, leaders, helpers and “all the amazing children who use the hut”.

Holbeach Tesco organised a pirate themed day for the roof last year and both councillors donated from their budgets.

Five groups use the hut: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows and Guides with a new Brownie unit starting again soon. To join a group or help as an adult volunteer visit www.girlguiding.org.uk or www.scouts.org.uk to register.
