Saturday round-up: Six-y stuff from Holbeach United, Pinchbeck United held and Moulton Harrox reach final

Holbeach United smashed six goals on Saturday to keep their upturn in form going, while Pinchbeck United secured a draw on the road to stay on-course for the title.

Starting in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division, goals from Luke Avis (2), Charley Sanders (2), Lewis Leckie and George Zuerner gave Holbeach a 6-0 victory over Oadby Town at Carter’s Park.

The win sees the Tigers stay fourth in the table – and they are now looking odds-on to finish (at least) in the top five. They return to action at home to Northampton Sileby Rangers on Wednesday night (7.45pm).

In Division One, Pinchbeck now need a maximum of seven points to seal the title after a 2-2 draw at Burton Park Wanderers.

Player/boss Ian Dunn put the Knights into the lead, but they soon found themselves 2-1 down and facing a first loss in 21 games.

However, top scorer Ollie Maltby levelled on the hour to keep their fine unbeaten run going. Both teams had players sent off, with Tom Brooks given his marching orders for Pinchbeck.

They are six points clear of second-placed Potton United with two games in hand ahead of their trip to Irchester United on Tuesday (7.45pm).

In the ChromaSport PDFL, Moulton Harrox booked a place in the final of the PFA Senior Cup after beating Whittlesey Athletic 4-3 on penalties. The sides had drawn 2-2 at Broad Lane.

They will play Premier Division leaders Netherton United in the final.

In the top flight, Holbeach United Reserves enjoyed a fantastic 5-1 victory over Peterborough Sports Reserves, while Sutton Bridge United went down 5-2 at Ketton.

In Division One, Long Sutton Athletic romped to a 9-1 win over Netherton Reserves and Tydd St Mary were 4-1 victors at Oundle Town.
