Saturday football: Rothwell end Holbeach’s winning run, spot-on Pinchbeck climb up to second, Harrox win again

Holbeach United saw their eight-game winning run shattered by a 2-0 defeat at Rothwell Corinthians on Saturday, while Pinchbeck United earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Long Buckby.

Goals from Jordan Henson and Louis O’Dell put the skids on the Tigers’ winning streak, as they suffered only a second ChromaSport UCL Premier Division defeat of the season.

Seb Hayes’ side slip to eighth in the table as a result, but are still just four points off third place with games in hand on all of the sides above them.

Pinchbeck, meanwhile, are up to second in UCL Division One after an impressive away victory.

Ollie Maltby’s 18th-minute penalty made the long trip to Long Buckby a sweet one for Ian Dunn’s side.

Down in the ChromaSport PDFL, Moulton Harrox continued their unbeaten start to the Premier Division season with a battling 3-2 home win over basement boys Langtoft United.

Sutton Bridge United lost 4-2 at home to Stamford Belvedere in the same division.

Holbeach United Reserves were 1-0 winners over Stanground Sports in the PFA Senior Cup, while Long Sutton Athletic managed a 3-1 win at Crowland Town in the same competition.
