Saturday football: Pinchbeck United close on fourth place with Nirvana win, another defeat for Holbeach United

Pinchbeck United won 3-1 at Leicester Nirvana in the Future Lions UCL Premier Division on Saturday, while Holbeach United’s poor run of results continued with a 2-0 home reverse against Rugby Town.

The Knights are now six points clear in fourth place, having come from behind to earn an impressive success at a Nirvana side who are notoriously strong at home.

Trailing 1-0 at half time, Ollie Maltby levelled for Ian Dunn’s side on 50 minutes, before further goals from Charlie West (73) and Alex Beck (90) got the job done.

Meanwhile, Holbeach have now lost four games on the spin after two second-half Rugby goals at Carter’s Park.

Charlie Evans netted a late brace for the away side, stretching the Tigers’ winless streak to six games.

Danny Hussey’s side are now sixth, seven points off Pinchbeck in fourth.
