Sargent duo bidding to reach F1 Stock Car world final at King’s Lynn this weekend

Spalding father and son team Mark and Finn Sargent will be aiming to qualify for the F1 Stock Car world final when the first semi-final takes place at King’s Lynn this Saturday (5pm).

Both will be aiming to make their first world final.

This is father Mark’s second world semi in what is his 25th year of competing in BriSCA Stock Cars. The majority of that time has been spent in the F2 Stock Cars, though.

He starts the big race on the second row and will have a great chance of making the final. His confidence will be sky high after winning a meeting final at Lynn earlier in the season.

Teenager Finn is in his debut F1 Stock Car season. Qualifying for the final will be a very difficult task for the 16-year-old as he starts the big race on the very back row.

He also has no shale experience and has never raced at King’s Lynn before. However, qualifying for a semi-final in his debut year is a fantastic achievement and something very few drivers achieve.

Also in action are the 2L Stock Cars and the F2 Stock Cars. The 2L Stock Cars are racing for the final time at King’s Lynn before the venue stages the world final in a fortnights time.

The 2L Stock Cars were also in action at King’s Lynn last weekend, where Long Sutton driver Simon Venni was in top form with a heat and final double.

Holbeach star Wes Starmer also managed a top three finish in the meeting final. Along with Spalding’s Rob Heanes this duo will be in action on Saturday night.

The F2 Stock Cars are also in action at King’s Lynn on Saturday, featuring Carl and Pat Issit and Justin Parker.
