Safeguarding adults courses offered free of charge by LCVS

Free training is being offered to equip people with the skills necessary to ensure they fulfil their obligations to promote the wellbeing of adults and protect them from harm and abuse.

The training – Safeguarding Adults: Everyone’s Responsibility – offered by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS), is particularly targeted at anyone who cares for adults especially in a charity or voluntary group.

Marie Chapman, LCVS senior community development and volunteering officer, said: “Whether you’re a carer, a volunteer or paid worker, the courses can help you find out more about how to promote people’s wellbeing and protect them from harm or abuse.
“The project is particularly useful if you work with or care for adults who need extra support.”

Participants are advised to attend an introductory course before completing the full day session.
The Care Act 2014 set out a legal framework for how local authorities and other organisations should protect adults.

  • Following on from an introductory course in Long Sutton in April, a full course is available on Monday, September 21, at the Friends Room, Market House, Long Sutton (10am to 4pm).
