Run inspired by weight loss

A Spalding woman has taken part in her first marathon after losing nearly six stone in weight.

Jennifer Maltby had taken up running to help her lose the weight.

And last week she completed the Manchester Marathon raising over £400 for Cancer Research UK in the process.

She chose that charity in memory of her uncle Michael who passed away after a battle with leukaemia.

Mum-of-two Jennifer, who works as a cleaner, said: “I decided I wanted to have a great achievement in my life. I found it hard in places but knew I had to complete it as I was raising money for the charity.”

Jennifer credits Weight Watchers coach Helen Webster and family and friends for her weight loss. She’s now set to take on the Boston Half Marathon next year.

Mum Susan Taylor said: “This is a brilliant achievement. She has come so far.”
