Rocking all through the summer

It promises to be an unforgettable season for music aficionados of all persuasions as summer gets underway.

Spalding’s South Holland Centre will kick it all off with award-winning folk singer Cara Dillon on Saturday, April 11 (tickets £19.50).

If you don’t know the voice of Cara Dillon, you’re in for a treat. With music that transcends genres and crosses barriers, her cheerful personality and ethereal voice combine to present music that can only be described as enchanting.

On Saturday, April 25, the centre plays host to the Sarah Gillespie Quartet, performing The Life of Bessie Smith (tickets £14).

Bessie Smith is one of the most iconic artists in jazz and blues history. The critically acclaimed Songstress Sarah Gillespie takes to the stage with a fresh interpretation of her heroine.

It’s the turn of Andy Fairweather Low and The Low Riders at the venue on Thursday, July 9 (tickets £20).

Andy was a founder member of 1960s British pop band Amen Corner, and in recent years has toured extensively with Roger Waters, Eric Clapton and Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings.

Then on Saturday, October 31, 80s chart-topping band Big Country (tickets £24.50) perform at the centre on their “Best Of” UK Tour.

Scottish band Big Country exploded on the scene in 1983, with Top Ten hit Fields Of Fire and the million selling In a Big Country.

And if that wasn’t enough of a treat for music lovers, the South Holland Centre is also selling tickets for two outdoor events at Burghley House, near Stamford this summer.

Status Quo will perform on Saturday, June 6 and 80s Greatest Hits Show – featuring Bananarama, Toyah, Midge Ure and more – is on Sunday, June 7.

Both events are organised by Live Promotions and tickets cost £39.95 for each.
