A group that teaches and supports young musicians in South Holland is looking for support as it puts on its latest free sessions.
The Rock School Bus has been promoting the arts in the district and recently put on Bronze Arts Awards sessions funded by The National Lottery.
That was such a success those behind it are now putting on sessions for the Silver Arts Awards.
It’s the equivalent of a ‘four to nine’ level GCSE qualification.
There’s only a handful of the 20 fully-funded places left.
The eight-week course runs from 11am to 3pm on Saturday at the Bromley Memorial Hall in Pode Hall with the first session on June 21.
Amber Sinclair leads the Rock School Bus.
She said: “Do you love to sing or play an instrument and want to spend time making music with professional musicians and earn a nationally recognised qualification?
“Thanks to National Lottery funding these sessions are completely free.
“This award also includes those involved producing their arts event that will be on later in the year.”
It follows the Bronze Arts Awards scheme that saw all the places taken up.
“It was a huge success,” continued Amber. “We’re now waiting on the moderation from Trinity College.
“One third of those attending were children with special educational needs and they all absolutely thrived.”
The Rock School Bus looks to reach as many people as possible, so tours numerous events in and around the district encouraging people to give music to go.
To ensure it can continue to do that, a crowdfunding campaign using the Spacehive platform has been set up.
“The backing will help ensure we’re set for another season of summer fun out and about and onboard the Rock School’s double decker bus,” said Amber.
