Works costing £215,000 are to be carried out on the railway crossing of Winsover Road in Spalding.
Network Rail call it an ‘essential upgrade’ which will lead to some Sunday and night closures.
These will be

- From 8.30pm on Saturday, July 12 to 7am on Monday July 14 at 7am
- From 9.30pm on Monday, August 11 to 6.30am on Tuesday, August 12
- From 9.30pm on Tuesday, August 12 to 6.30am on Wednesday August 13.
A spokesman for National Rail said: “The comprehensive renovation will replace the life-expired crossing surface, deck units, cill beams (the interface between tarmac and railway), tarmac and road markings.
“By scheduling the work when no trains are running, these essential improvements can be completed with the least possible disruption to passenger journeys and local residents.
“Road diversion routes will be in place and clearly signposted throughout the closure periods.”
Matthew Story, works delivery supervisor for Network Rail, said: “This significant investment will deliver a much smoother and safer crossing for both rail and road users. We understand the disruption this essential work may cause and thank the local community for their patience while we complete these important upgrades.
“The current crossing surface has reached the end of its operational life and requires replacement to ensure continued safety and reliability. We’ve scheduled much of the work overnight and during weekends to minimise disruption to the public.”
