Spalding’s Pumpkin Festival is set to return on Saturday, October 12.
A new Pumpkin Street will be set up in the town centre between 11am and 3pm alongside the usual Saturday market.
It will be created by local artist Jonathan Nichols.
There will be a host of other attractions and a fancy dress competition which will be judged on the stage at 12.30pm.
Anna from Frozen and the cast of this year’s South Holland Centre pantomime Snow White will also be gracing the stage.
Other events will be on at the same time including a Scarecrow Trail which will be around the town centre over half term (Saturday, October 12 to Sunday, October 27).
Similarly, Ayscoughfee Hall is hosting its own Autumn Trail throughout the whole of October.
Those who complete either will be in line for prizes.
Broad Street Methodist Church will join the town’s horticultural festivities, running another free arts and crafts session alongside a coffee morning between 10am and 2pm.
Meanwhile, Spalding Library will be combining the Pumpkin Festival with National Libraries Week’s (Monday, October 7 to Sunday, October 13) ‘Go Green’ theme. From 10am until 12pm residents are invited to cress pumpkin heads and take part in a pumpkin picture hunt.
Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for community development, said: “The Pumpkin Festival is always a very popular event and I have no doubt this year will the same. Not only does the event offer a great day out for local families, it helps to preserve and celebrate our proud history of horticulture and harvest.
“The team has done a fantastic job behind the scenes getting everything ready. There is definitely something for everyone to come and enjoy, so mark it on your calendars and I look forward to seeing as many people in Spalding as possible on Saturday, October 12.”
