Residents enjoy pub lunch with family and friends

Residents from Beech Lodge Nursing Home near Holbeach had a surprise when friends and family turned up to join them for a pub lunch.

The special event took place at The Swan in Moulton where everyone enjoyed a drink and a specially prepared traditional meal.

The home’s manager, Ajay Nath, was delighted with the success of the event, saying: “It is really nice to create the opportunity for our residents to meet up and enjoy some quality time with their loved ones.”

Beech Lodge has a regular programme of outings including trips out to churches, garden centres, the seaside and other places of interest.

Ajay added: “We are very lucky to have a minibus provided by Country Court Care which enables us to plan trips out and we are pleased at the positive response from families in joining in the fun.”

Events for the 30 residents at Beech Lodge are organised by Steve Shore and he praised the efforts of the The Swan staff, who he said were “friendly, extremely helpful and provided a wonderful meal and excellent service”.

Beech Lodge is on Frogs Abbeygate just outside Holbeach and the home is always interested to hear from volunteers, especially those with a musical talent, to enhance the residents’ experience.
