Reason house was destroyed in fire remains a mystery

The cause of why a Holbeach St John’s home was completely destroyed in a fire last week is still to be determined.

Nobody was injured in the incident reported around 6.35pm on Friday, January 29 on St John’s Road.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the fire had destroyed “100 per cent of the property and its contents” but they’d been unable to find the cause as “the house was unsafe to enter”.

“It’s also unknown where the fire originated,” a spokesman for the fire service told The Voice.

Crews from Holbeach, Long Sutton, Spalding, Crowland and Market Deeping attended the incident and extinguished the blaze using three hose reel jets.

Crews remained in attendance as the fire continued to smoulder well into Saturday.
