Rabiega’s star showing guides way for title-chasing Polishborough

Polishborough captain Tomasz Rabiega gave a man of the match performance as his side eased to a 1-0 victory and cut the gap on the top-flight leaders in The Spalding and South Holland Six-a-Side League.

The match against Univeg Team was a potential banana skin for the title chasers.
It was always going to be a tight game, Univeg’s solid defence matched against the firepower of the Poles, and so it proved, with just the one goal in a game of few chances.

Mirror Signal Malouda were left rueing missed chances, and the referee, as they lost 4-1 to Notinmymums Forest. The match itself was closer than the score suggests, with Malouda taking the lead and generally enjoying the better possession in the first period.
However, as they tired, Forest dragged themselves back into the match, leaving Malouda frustrated with themselves and with match official Junior Jones-Eyre. Notinmymums Forest had Brandon Taylor as man of the match.

Pro Ballers found things surprisingly easy as they beat Evolution 4-0. Declan Earth picked up MOTM in this game, his fourth of the season, after he dictated every Pro Ballers attack.

Third-placed You’ve Got No Fans are only out of the top two on goal difference and so took every opportunity to give it a boost here by thrashing East Europa 4-1 in a resounding victory. Charlie Eccott picked up man of the match – number three for the campaign.

The Squad and Tekkers rounded off Division One with a fiery match.
The game finished 1-1 but an incident midway through the second period marred any good football. Both sides involved in a handbag exchange as tempers rose.
Matt Cannon was man of the match as Tekkers recorded their first draw this season.

In Division Two, some calamitous defending from FC Barnicols saw Sarah’s Boys stroll to an 8-3 win.
Marcus Gilberston helped himself to a hat-trick within two minutes of the off.

Meanwhile, Mail Carters beat Tekkerslovakia 2-0. A good all-round performance saw Carters pick up just their third win of the season, leapfrogging Tekkerslovakia in the process. Kyle Reed was given MOTM after impressing referee Andy Rudd.

Bowlcut Wanderers condemned Dynamo Kiev back to the bottom of the table after they beat them 4-2.
Bowlcut, stronger going forwards, restricted Kiev to just a handful of chances, which in fairness, they did take. Bowlcut’s Lee Horwood caught the eye of referee Tim Stoodley to be MOTM.

Leaders Puyol Pants Down threw away a 1-0 lead as they drew 1-1 with Posh Old Boys in the most entertaining fixture of the second division.
A thoroughly delightful game that provided a brilliant advert for the league Posh playing a counter-attacking style, found plenty of space, particularly in the second period, as Puyol looked for a second to cushion their lead.
Rob Ward picked up man of the match after a great display for Posh, who are up to third.

The curtain came down on division two with Balotellitubbies compounding the misery for The TBME with a 3-1 victory.
Jordan Clow snatched man of the match as the ‘tubbies added to The TBME’s freefall.
They’ve now lost seven straight games and find themselves in seventh spot. Balotellitubbies, in good form, are sixth and climbing.
