Pupils raise £1,600 for Nepal

Pupils at a Spalding school have raised £500 to help the victims of the Nepal earthquake during a fundraising day.
Ayscoughfee Hall School pupils held a “mufti” day and cake sale to raise the money, which will be handed over to Adam Turner, the brother of an ex pupil, who has been to Nepal as part of a rescue mission.
Teacher Sally Chester said she was delighted with the total raised.
Headteacher Clare Ogden said: “I am proud of all the children’s hard work and efforts on behalf of such a good cause.
“As always, our heartfelt thanks must go to our amazing parents too! Hopefully the money given will help in some small way to alleviate the suffering in Nepal”.
lStudents and staff at University Academy Holbeach held a non-uniform day, raising £1,100.
The school is donating the monies raised to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC).
During geography lessons, students in Key Stage 3 have been learning about the causes and effects of the earthquake and wanted to do something to help those in need.
