Pub remains open after staff member tests positive for COVID-19

A team of staff working at a Spalding pub are self-isolating after a colleague tested positive for COVID-19.

The Punchbowl in New Road remains open with another team of staff serving customers.

The pub is overseen by the Craft Union Pub Company which said that the government track and trace system had been informed.

A spokesperson for The Punchbowl said: “We can confirm a team member is self-isolating having tested positive for COVID-19.

“The operator and all team members have taken all the necessary precautions and are self-isolating.

“The bar has been deep cleaned and has re-opened with a new team in place.

“All our COVID-secure measures remain in place to keep our staff and customers safe.”
