Proceeds of pet shop’s animal calendar handed to charity

An animal charity has had its coffers boosted by sales of a pet shop’s calendar.

Rooke’s Pet Products handed over a cheque for £768 to Wood Green from the sale of its 2015 Face of Rooke’s calendar.

The Face of Rooke’s competition is run annually and sees customers enter photos of their pets in a bid to win the coveted title as well as a discount card.

The 13 finalists also became the stars of the calendar, which is sold at Rooke’s, Wood Green’s charity shop and its headquarters in Godmanchester, with £1 from each sale going to the good cause.

Jason Rooke, managing director of Rooke’s said: “We’ve been blown away by the popularity of the calendar and support for Wood Green.

“These things are tricky to plan for; you never known how many you will sell. But the results speak for themselves and it’s great to support such a worthy cause.”
