Probus donation for hospital

A donation from a Spalding group for retired women will go towards equipment at the town’s hospital.

The Spalding Probus Group has donated £50 to the Friends of Johnson Community Hospital.

Members meet on the second Wednesday of each month for a lunch and guest speaker.

Christine Grocock, the secretary of Johnson Community Hospital, said: “We were absolutely delighted to be considered for this generous contribution and would like to express heartfelt thanks to the ladies from the Spalding Probus Group.

“It will go towards purchasing essential equipment for the hard-working nurses and to enhance the comfort of patients at Johnson Community Hospital.

“The Probus Group in Spalding is currently looking to welcome new members. Probus offers a unique opportunity for retired individuals to come together, share experiences, and enjoy the company of like-minded people.

“Retirement can sometimes bring feelings of isolation, but Probus provides a supportive and sociable environment where members can build friendships.

“It’s a great chance to connect with others who understand the unique joys and challenges that come with life after a busy career.”
