Seven police officers based locally have been recognised for their response after the killing of a woman.
PC 204 Paul Odd, PC 440 Christian Martin, PC 1344 Simona Griciute, PC (1451) Jason Bilner, Insp 1018 Daniel McCormack, PC 532 Joel Holliday and PC 592 Marcin Pelka were presented with commendations by Chief Constable Paul Gibson at a recent ceremony.
Lincolnshire Police said it’s ‘chosen not to identify the incident’ it relates to ‘out of respect to the deceased and their family’, but that it involved the ‘tragic killing of a woman’.

A police spokesman said: “The officers needed to secure a scene, give first aid to an injured suspect and look after a young child who was present during this horror – and this needed to be done with dignity and respect, for the woman who lost her life and all who would be affected by this horrific incident.
“Initially the call had come in as a concern for safety. That swiftly escalated into this urgent and traumatic incident. PC Odd and PC Martin showed exceptional initiative and bravery, forcing entry to the home.
“Supported by PC Holliday, they discovered the horrific scene: the body of a woman, an injured man, and a young child.

“Their rapid actions made sure the child was safe, and lifesaving first aid was delivered to the suspect.
“Further exemplary conduct was shown by PCs Gricuite, Bilner and Pelka, who provided calm, compassionate care to the child for many hours, ensuring their safety, comfort and dignity.
“Insp McCormack demonstrated strong leadership in coordinating the scene, prioritising welfare, and supporting partner agencies.
“Their collective professionalism, courage and humanity in the face of an appalling crime reflected the very highest standards of policing.”
