Popular teacher says farewell

Pupils and staff at Ayscoughfee School have said a fond farewell to a popular teacher.

Mrs Suzanne Strickson retired after 24-years at the school.
Headteacher Mrs Theresa Wright said: “Mrs Strickson is a highly respected and a much-loved member of our staff.
“She has nurtured our very youngest children from the first day they walked through our big red door and looked after so many parents who have been upset and nervous about leaving their child for the first time at primary school.
“Many of the children have very fond memories of their time in Kindergarten and that is a testament to how well Mrs Strickson has looked after them from such a young age.
“I know the staff and children will miss her very much but we wish her a long and happy retirement with her family.
Mrs Strickson said, “I have had many wonderful years teaching at Ayscoughfee Hall School and I can honestly say I love my job, but I look forward to spending more time with my lovely family and five beautiful grandchildren.
“I would like to pass on my best wishes to all of the current staff, and onto the new Kindergarten teacher and I hope Ayscoughfee Hall School continues to be the wonderful family school it is today.”
