Platform bears a bug house

A new house has been built at Spalding railway station courtesy of volunteers.

A brand new Bug House which aims to attract wildlife has been installed as the bid to improve the area surrounding it continues.

It was built and installed by those that attend the Long Sutton Men’s Shed, a group that aims to beat loneliness in males.

Members used their own time and resources to create the Bug House for the Friends of Spalding Station group.

Its member Jan Whitbourn said: “The great guys at the Long Sutton Men’s Shed have done a fantastic job.

“I feel so proud and it’s all down to these guys helping to make this a lovely area and see wildlife come and go.

“Thank you from all of the Friends of Spalding Station to Jack Tyrrell, Barry Meade and all the team at the shed who worked so hard to install it over the weekend..

“It’s amazing and looks great.”
