Plan to demolish shop for homes

A plan to knock a 100-year-old Spalding shop down and replace it with six homes close to the Winsover Road railway crossing has been submitted.

Edward Clark Developments Ltd has submitted the application to demolish the buildings on the site of what was most recently a bike store.

Documents submitted say a new road would be created using the existing hard standing driveway.

The shop at 86 Winsover Road would be demolished to make way for one home.

Behind that would be three terraced homes and across from a turning area would be two homes which would back on to properties on Thistle Gardens.

All of the homes would have three bedrooms, the plans state.

The development would also include a single collection point for bins.

The shop has a brick plaque on it which states it was built in 1925.

It was most recently available for rent for £7,500 per year.
