Pitching in for cash boost

Long Sutton Hockey Club is among those who are hoping to net your votes and a cash boost towards a new AstroTurf.

The club has already raised £37,000 towards the £200,000 replacement of their current 20-year-old surface.

Now it’s hoping to get enough votes to land money from the Aviva Community Fund.

The club which has a host of different teams for a number of age groups, is looking for between £10k to £25k.

A spokesman for the club said: “Should the club be successful with this bid, it will go a long way to convincing external sports funding bodies that they should back our bid to them to make the replacement of the pitch possible.”
