Pinchbeck United eye up swoop for Wisbech winger Hamilton ahead of Bugbrooke battle

Table-topping Pinchbeck United are hoping to complete a deal for Wisbech Town ace Kieran Hamilton.

The Knights, who are five points clear at the top of ChromaSport UCL Division One table, have made a seven-day notice of approach for the versatile winger.

With 21 of his 26 appearances for the Fenmen this season coming from the bench, Pinchbeck player/boss Ian Dunn is hoping that regular first team football will tempt him to drop down a level.

And the player/boss admitted that another mystery player is also on his radar.

Dunn said: “All I can say is that we’ve got seven days in for him. I know he’s not been getting as much football as he’d like at Wisbech.

“We think he’d improve the squad, but he’s got to speak to (Wisbech manager) Gary Setchell before he makes his mind up.

“We’re also hoping to tie up another deal by the end of the week.”

This Saturday sees Pinchbeck aim to get back to winning ways at Bugbrooke St Michaels (3pm).

The Knights saw their nine-game winning run halted by a draw against Huntingdon Town last weekend, but Dunn admits that the conditions could prove their biggest challenge this weekend.

He added: “We’ve spoken to them and it seems they’ve been badly hit by snow. I think there will be an inspection on Friday, so we’ll have to see.

“I’ve seen Bugbrooke a few times and they’re good going forward and talented in midfield. But we’ve got pretty much a full squad and everyone is feeling positive.”

Tom Brooks and Luke Gardner are Pinchbeck’s chief doubts, with Andrew Tidswell and Liam Ogden set to return.
