Pinchbeck Unitd once again have sweet FA to celebrate after away Vase humbling

Aylestone Park 4
Pinchbeck United 1

Pinchbeck United’s miserable record in FA competitions continued on Saturday as they were humbled 4-1 by lower-graded opposition.

The Knights crashed out of the Buildbase FA Vase at UCL Division One side Aylestone Park, meaning they have still yet to win any FA competition fixture in their history.

Goals from Tom Hill (20), Joseph Latham (37) and Riley Davoile (42) saw managerless Pinchbeck fall 3-0 down at the break.

Sub Kyle Onyon did pull one back in the second half, but Harry Sheffield’s late fourth piled on the misery for the Knights in Leicestershire.

Caretaker boss Alfie Tate said: “It was a very disappointing day for the club. Aylestone were deserved winners and the scoreline was a fair reflection.

“We started well, but after the first five minutes we went flat and lost the midfield battle and were outclassed.

“I can offer no excuses, we all have to take accountability. I think everyone needs to do a lot better, myself included.

“We need to be more positive moving forward and learn from the defeat.”

Knights: Martin, Worthington, Mason, Auld, Kacirek, Sebtane, Armond, Neves, Daws, Dunn, Krashiqi. Subs used: Eyes, Onyon. Not used: Cottingham, Burrell.
