Pinchbeck set for carnival weekend of delight

Pinchbeck will be full of characters for a weekend of carnival fun.

Children’s books is the theme for the year and there will be three days of community fun at the marquee on Rotten Row playing field.

The annual bingo night kicks-off proceedings with eyes-down at 7pm.

The parade will leave Wimberley Way at noon on Saturday and should arrive at the playing field around 12.45pm. Road junctions will be closed while it passes.

Village ‘royalty’ will lead the way with Carnival Queen Sian Groves and princesses Bella Parker and Sophie Bolton.

They will be followed by a parade of vintage cars and the Breaston Highlanders will also be taking part before giving a display in the arena.

There will be a range of events, stalls and displays from martial arts to circus skills and dancing.

There will also be a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight if the weather is fine.

From 6pm there will be a festival of music and for all the details, see the carnival Facebook page.
