Chosen buys a Tommy

Staff at Chosen Charity Shop in Holbeach have donated the £750 to purchase the Tommy silhouette statue to be placed by the graves of the World War I fallen in Holbeach Cemetery.

When the trust made its initial pledge, it said if the cost of one statue was met, it would purchase as many additional statues as donations allow.

To donate to buy a second statue for the cemetery, visit www.mydonate.bt.com and search for Holbeach Cemetery Chapels.

Alternatively, put money in a collection box in a Holbeach shop or send a cheque to Holbeach Cemeteries Chapels Ltd, Old White House, Baileys Lane, Holbeach Hurn, PE12 8JP.

The statue will be placed by the war graves.
