Pinchbeck held by Radford in opener

A late goal denied Pinchbeck United a winning start to their United Counties League campaign against Radford

After falling behind in the first half, substitute Brenden Parker put the Knights ahead with two goals in six minutes in the closing stages.

However, the three points were snatched from them when Radford made it 2-2 in the dying minutes.

Man of the match was defender Josh Williams

Manager Lewis Thorogood was pleased with the display and said: “We grew into the game and showed real heart and determination. We have set the standards on the pitch and will look to build on that.

“We have had a rebuild over the summer with fresh faces and a fresh style of play. I want to see progressions on last season and let’s see where it takes us.”

Knights: (squad) Balding, Cranfield, Gordon, Melson, Panton, Pipes-Goulsbraa, Shinn, Tarver, Waby, Williams, Young, Parker. Att: 52.
