PDFL round-up: Danny’s double as Moulton Harrox get back on track

Table-topping Moulton Harrox shrugged off back-to-back defeats in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division to win 3-1 at Oakham United
on Saturday.

A double from Danny Maddison and another Joe Townsend goal – his 16th of the season helped extend Harrox’s lead at the top to seven points.

Kev Nottingham’s charges now turn their attention to the defence of their Lincs Junior Cup crown as they make the trip to Tetney Rovers in round three on Saturday (1.30pm).

Also victorious in the top tier on Saturday were Sutton Bridge United, who dispatched basement side Polonia 4-2.

Barry Osborn, Joseph Sutton, David Abbott and Craig Pack delivered the goods for Bridge, who are now eighth.

One place below them are Tydd, who were held to a 1-1 home draw by Whittlesey Athletic.

High-flying Holbeach United Reserves slipped to a 1-0 defeat at fourth-placed Thorney, while Long Sutton Athletic were handed a 3-2 reverse by Ketton despite a Matt Cawthorn double.

Down in Division One, Moulton Harrox Reserves could only draw 0-0 with struggling Oakham Reserves at Broad Lane.

Meanwhile, fifth-placed Spalding Town were handed a 2-0 beating by runaway leaders FC Parson Drove.

In Division Two, Spalding Athletic now have a goal difference of -53 after being walloped 13-1 at Premiair and remain in the bottom two, while Whaplode Drove went down 3-2 at home to Feeder.

There was better news for Long Sutton Reserves in Division Three, as goals from Ryan Jones (2), Scott Pemberton (2) and Mark Garner earned them a 5-1 derby victory at Holbeach Bank.

Warren Skeels got their consolation goal.

There was a derby in Division Four too, as Liam Mead (2) and Brandon Andrews fired Holbeach Sports to a 3-0 success at Tydd Reserves.
