PDFL football: Wells injury sees derby abandoned, wins for Harrox and Spalding Town

A serious-looking leg injury to Glen Wells saw Sunday’s derby between Long Sutton Athletic and Tydd St Mary abandoned.

Sutton defender Wells went down under a challenge from Tydd’s Jake Clitheroe after just 11 minutes, leading to a lengthy delay as an ambulance was required.

It was decided that the game should be abandoned soon after, meaning the ChromaSport PDFL Division One clash will need to be rearranged.

It was the final game of the UCL/PDFL Groundhop weekend to have South Holland interest.

On Saturday, Moulton Harrox cruised to a 3-0 victory over Sutton Bridge in an all-South Holland Premier Division affair.

Marcus Parry, Willy Watkin and Dan Woods got the goals for title hopefuls Harrox.

In Division Two, a last-gasp Ash Wilson goal gave Spalding Town a 2-1 victory over Wisbech St Mary Saints.

Tom Coote was the other scorer for Town at Knight Street.
