Paws on selling after raising £58k

A woman who has raised more than £58,000 for charity from her Holbeach home in the last five years has made her last sale.

Ann Gregory began selling things from outside her Boston Road South home during the lockdowns in 2020 to raise money for Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
It’s been a huge success that’s seen her donate a total of £58,646 thanks to those that attended and dropped off items to sell.
It’s been an incredible few years for the retiree who also cares for her husband Mac who has Parkinson’s.
She had to apply for planning permission to sell the items at one point and also was accidently donated an urn with someone’s ashes in that she had no idea what to do with.
More recently, Shaun Watson of the FatFace store at Springfields heard about Ann and the company donated £250 to Jerry Green, and Joanne Harris won a raffle Ann put on but donated all the winnings of £200 to Jerry Green.
Ann’s now decided to stop the selling due to a deterioration in the health of her husband of 52 years.
“I’ve really enjoyed the fundraising experience,” she said. “I have raised and donated a lot of much-needed funds for the local charity.
“We have met some wonderful characters; people have been so kind and empathetic to our circumstances.
“I feel incredibly lucky to have made so many wonderful new friends now. What more could I ask for?”
The head of the Jerry Green charity has written to Ann and sent her a certificate and the ‘most beautiful’ patio rose.
“Special thanks go to everyone that has helped, and supported me, be it buying or donating items,” Ann continued. “Thanks all those people that turned up on my last day and wished me luck and thank me for the things I have been doing.
“It was overwhelming how many came just to buy something and also say they’d like to keep in touch.
“Bailey Leung has been by my side whenever I have needed help.
“She even turned up unannounced to help me pack and bag all the remaining items which had been donated that have gone to the Jerry Green shop in Gainsborough.
“I would also like to thank Niki who volunteered her own time to help and support me each Friday morning for the last year.”
