Partygoers get into the 80s groove

Madonna, Super Mario and the team from Hi De Hi were just some of the guests at an annual 80s themed disco night.

For the fifth year running Ian Haynes and Duncan Wright have organised the event at Spalding’s South Holland Centre to raise funds for Cancer Research following Ian’s diagnosis with oesophageal cancer in 2009.

Music on the night was provided by Tim Walker of Pure Vinyl, who only plays vinyl records.

Ian said: “The event is a sell-out every year thanks to 250 loyal supporters who turn out in fancy dress.

“We hold a raffle and a silent auction and this year we raised £3,031.45.

“I really want to thank all of the generous companies and people in Spalding and afar who donated raffle and silent auction items, along with the people who attended and helped us raise the cash.

“Thanks to their support we have raised over £13,000 Cancer Research UK in the last five years.”
