Parish council ponders allotment CCTV after theft

Long Sutton Parish Council is looking to install CCTV at its allotments following the latest break in.

The council’s chairman John Clarey said that the lock on the gate was broken at some point last week and thieves stole a trailer.

“It’s very sad this is happening with the majority of our tenants are retired and keep the allotments very tidy,” he said. “This is another unnecessary cost to the tenants and the parish council.

“As a parish council we are having a meeting with the tenants to see about having CCTV installed.

“We are looking at suitable equipment and best locations.”
